4-26-14 Saturday
A pretty chilly day in terms of weather but the sunshine was nice. I went to the bike swap to see how things were going and they had already sold a lot of bikes. I stopped by 3rd Street Bakery on the way up the hill and bought some Dan's Macaroons & they gave me a bag of Goddess bars for free [they are the bars from the corner of the pan]. My pannier was full of treats.
I was able to be really productive and get lots of chores done throughout the day. I wanted to get outside despite the windy weather so I bundled up and hit the road on the Motobecane.
I made it to Hawk Ridge. This portion of skyline was closed and still had drifted snow in sections. People were out hiking and enjoying the sun.I made it to the first bridge on 7 bridges road. I had to do some walking through snow to make it to this point. There was still a lot of depth in the shady sections.
The river is really flowing.
A look up the hill at the snow I passed through. From this point I headed north and didn't continue on 7 bridges road. I wanted to see how the roads connected north of lester park. I did some exploring up there and satisfied my curiosity. I had a tailwind on the way home and felt good after 15miles. I'm glad I dressed warmly.
Relaxed a bit when I got home but had been thinking about beer bread for a long while. I found a recipe and made the dough. Emily arrived and we went for a walk around the hillside. The house smelled great when we returned and the bread turned out great.
4-5-14 Saturday
My car was loaded with outdoor gear and so I decided to see how Lost Land Lake RD was for riding. It was plowed and the snowmobile trails were closed...so I jumped on the snowmo trail for some different scenery.
